5 Moves To Kick Start Your FITOURNEY (Fitness Journey)

FITOURNEY recommends 5 basic exercises to kick-start your fitness journey. Performing these exercises helps you to achieve your desired fitness goals:

(Complete 2-3 sets of 12 to 15 reps of each exercise, with 45 seconds to 1 minute of rest between each exercise)

Squats: Squats are a compound movement that strengthens your legs, making everyday movements easier.

Direction:

  • Start with standing straight, place your feet and shoulders apart with your toes slightly turned outward.
  • Sit down by bending your knees and hips and sticking your butt back. Then return back to the neutral position.
  • Keep your back in an arch position.

High knee: A high knee is an aerobic exercise. It helps an individual to improve cardiovascular endurance.

Direction:

  • Start with standing and keeping your back arched.
  • Start stepping in place.
  • Gradually increase the speed.

Knee push-ups: Knee push-ups help to build upper body strength. It specifically targets and focuses on your chest, shoulders and triceps, all together.

Direction:

  • Start in the push-up position but with your knees on the floor.
  • Lower down until your upper arms are parallel to the ground. Push back to the starting position.
  • Keep your back always in an arched position.

Superman: This exercise helps to strengthen your lower back.

Direction:

  • Start by lying down on your stomach.
  • Lift your legs, torso and arms.
  • Hold this position for 10-20 seconds.

Planks: Planks are highly recommended and one of the best exercises that one can do. It is also one of the most famous exercises in the world.

Directions:

  • Start with a plank position.
  • Keep your back straight.
  • Your body should form a straight line from head to feet.

The most important thing to know here is that any exercise even for a small amount of time is way better than no exercise at all. Performing these 5 exercises daily helps you develop the habit of exercising and also helps you to achieve your desired goals.
